I love taking walks although with the cold weather of winter, my mistress doesn’t take me as often as before. She doesn’t have as much hair to keep her warm as I do. I’m not really sure why that is, but I feel sorry for her so I don’t mind not going as often.
When I first came to be her dog I just wore a collar. When we would go for a walk I was compelled to go as fast as I could. There was so much to see and I couldn’t wait (of course, I was almost choking myself to death with every step). She (my mistress) said she felt like a kite on the end of a string. Next thing I knew she put a harness on me. I guess she thought it would slow me down some. Boy, did I show her. I could not only go as fast as I did before, but I wasn’t choking myself either. I really liked that harness. It never occurred to me that I was being a “Bad Dog”.
Around Christmas time my mistress bought me a new harness. The leash (aka: kite string) attached in the front instead of on the back. What difference could that make?, I was wondering. Well, I soon found out and I didn’t like it one bit. When I lunged to get into my normal fast pace something unpleasant and unforseen took place. I did a summer-salt before I knew what happened, or even what that was. At first I thought maybe I had tripped on some ice or something so I tried it again. I don’t like summer-salts. They make you feel a little stupid and dizzy. I walk at a much slower pace now, but my mistress seems much happier.
Your friend, Harley still feeling a little dizzy
